Question by I Love College:

Is America currently doing anything about the sex work problem in Thailand?

The question says it all. Has America taken any courses of action? I remember reading that Thailand made prostitution illegal by pressure from the UN. But what about America alone?

Not really. While the US does strongly condemn the horrific sex trade in Thailand and its neighboring countries, because these are domestic issues, the United States really has no reason or cause to intervene. The US, if asked by the Thai government, would probably offer some sort of aid to the state but I don't really know what that would be. It would be in Thailand's best interest to seek help from the UN, if they really want to solve the problem at hand.
